You'll be in beach heaven in nearby Sitges as there are 17 beaches to choose from here! The ones closest to the town centre are the busiest, while those slightly further away will be a bit more secluded.  There are family friendly beaches like the Platja de la Fragata, as well as two main nudist beaches (Platja d'Aiguadolç and Platja dels Balmains). Platja de les Anquines beach is the nearest to El Garrofer (2km), set in a cove, it is a good option if you are looking for some peace and quiet.

When you're ready for a break from the beach, take the bus or train to fabulous Barcelona - there are around three trains an hour into the city, with the journey taking between 30 and 45 minutes or the bus stops directly outside the parc. Even closer at hand is historic Tarragona, boasting Roman ruins, a lovely old town and even more beaches!

Sagrada, Barcelona

The iconic Sagrada Familia basilica, designed by Gaudi, is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, even though it's not finished! It's totally unique and a real must see - as one of the city's most visited attractions it's a good idea to buy tickets in advance if you want to avoid lengthy queues.

Devil's Bridge

This Roman aquaduct near Tarragona is quite a sight - 217m long and 27m high, there are 11 arches on the lower level and 25 on the upper. If you've feeling brave and have a head for heights you can walk along the footpath across the top, at your peril!

Camp Nou

If you're a dedicated football fan, don't miss out on a tour of the world famous Camp Nou stadium in Barcelona. Visit the museum, take in the stands, the away side's changing room, the tunnel and dugout for an unforgettable experience. If you want to take a guided tour, pre-booking is advisable.

PortAventura World

For a fun filled family day out, head for the PortAventura and Ferrariland theme parks (and Caribe Aquatic Park). There's thrills and spills aplenty, as well as shows and areas  for little ones - they can even meet their favourite Sesame Street characters!

Old meets new in this historic  city - for ancient culture, it's one of the best destinations in Spain. There's a Roman amphitheatre besides the sea, Roman forum and necropolis, and a picturesque medieval old town. For sweeping views of the city take a walk along the ramparts, then hit the beach and relax.

The world famous Monastery of Montserrat welcomes more than 2 million visitors each year. Set amidst dramatic mountain scenery, you'll find two museums alongside the monastery, basiclica, shops and eateries.
