Surrounded by sea, and there’s even Tai Chi

Few areas in Croatia are graced with as much superb natural beauty as the Lanterna Peninsula on the Adriatic Sea, between Porec and Novigrad.

Surrounded on three sides by the clean blue waters of the Adriatic is Camp Lanterna. This large parc enjoys a strong Italian influence and is surrounded by pine trees, close to the edge of a gorgeously unspoilt coastline. It has a pool complex, play areas, games rooms, and direct access to a pebble beach. During the day, enjoy all that the parc has to offer, including a range of sports and water sports. If you want to venture off parc, why not go exploring and take in the vineyards and mountains of the national parks, or try out the fabulous new waterpark - Aquacolors Porec? Then, if you like a little dancing, head for the discos once the sun goes down.

Our first visit to Croatia as a family and to this part of the country. Parc was lovely. Could easily have stayed on sight for the whole week as plenty to do and eat. However it is situated in such a beautiful part of Croatia visiting the local towns is a must. We loved everything, the people, the food, the towns, the sea, the weather... and the red wine. Was a great great family holiday for all of us.

We choose this park to stay at during May half term with our three girls (8,6 and 6). We have done Eurocamp in France and Italy before and loved it. The site was fantastic! It is huge - much bigger than anything we have stayed at before and understandable why so many people bring bikes and scooters to get around. We had hired a car to get from the airport so occasionally we drove and parked up at different locations but enjoyed the walks around. It was still out of season so it felt comfortable and not over-crowded. Judging by the number of stacked up sun loungers, I'm not sure this would be the case during summer months. The beaches are great and the girls especially loved the sandy beach with the seawater pool and the inflatable assault course. They also had a lot of fun at the childrens pool complex - waterslides, a warm pool, a deep pool, splash park and toddler/pirate ship area. We did use the sunbeds and paid 80kuna a day for 2 of them of some days - the attendants didn't always come around. I know others have complained but I wasn't too offended to pay. The kids disco and films (every night at 7:30 and 8pm) were great and we did that for a couple of evenings. We also enjoyed the amusement park with inflatables, slides and bungee jumps. We ate at the restaurant two evenings (ok but not brilliant) and had a takeaway pizza (v good) but other than that shopped at the nearby Tommy's or Lidl and cooked for ourselves. On the Eurocamp side - I would echo many of the previous comments - the caravan was tired and scruffy (but clean) and was missing some key bits when we arrived. Our shower kept falling down and despite requesting it to be fixed it wasn't done properly. We only saw rep when we registered on arrival and then a v quick visit the night before departure. This was a real change to our other experiences and felt a bit impersonal.
We had great trips to Aqualand Colours, Baredine Caves, Lim Fjord, Novigrad and Rovinj and I thought Croatia was beautiful. Helped by the amazing weather which was a constant 27-30 degrees for the whole week. I would definitely go back to Croatia to explore more, I would consider going back to the same site as it was very impressive but I think I would book directly with Valamar's Camping Adriatic rather than use Eurocamp.

Fantastic family park. Very clean with plenty of activities. The accommodation (classic)was a bit too basic and the caravans were too close together. Noise from other holiday makers caused sleep disruption.
I was surprised there was a charge to use the sunloungers by the pool which I've never experienced on other holidays.

We went on 23/9/17 and on arrival reception staff just seemed disinterested and this was the attitude of 95% of the staff.
Our mobile was backed on to a busy and noisy road. The mobile itself needed updated and the mould removed from the shower sealant. It was cold in the evenings and the children's room bedroom heater did not work but when I attempted to address this with staff true to form they were not interested.
To eat out in the camp was expensive and not very good apart from the restaurant on the Plaza overlooking the sea which was lovely. I appreciate that at any given time some activities/facilities may be cancelled or closed but no kids club running, trampolines closed, kids water park not running in either of the 2 areas for the entire week, towel hire facility at pool ceased, no bike hire, etc etc and the reason we were given, 'it's the end of the season'. We booked the holiday based on the activities advertised for children but a large percentage of them were not available to us.
No Eurocamp reps contacted us at all over the week despite being advised they would be. The grounds of the camp are lovely but unfortunately, our first experience of Eurocamp was not a good one and doubt we'd book with them again.
