Rustic charm and fine cuisine in châteaux country

How many châteaux can you visit in one holiday? How about five, within easy exploration of your parc? We know just the place…

Le Moulin de Paulhiac is a rustic parc that offers a taste of traditional French charm, alongside modern facilities. Surrounded by ancient woodland, the parc features a wonderfully restored water mill, large grassy pitches and a recently developed pool complex with three slides, a selection of pools and a spray park for the kids. There’s also an excellent, highly regarded restaurant, and the takeaway’s great, too - perfect if you fancy dinner at your place, minus the cooking!

Very nice area with lots of interesting walks, the park is up together with a good, albeit small shop.

Our caravan was looking tired after a clearly hard summer - broken pane in the toilet window, missing edging in the kitchen, hole in the side of the van's cladding; side of shower cladding peeling away. The parc was pleasant, nice and flat and it was a treat to have the heated pool. The restaurant was average and the seating poor quality - it felt clinical rather than warm and friendly. The lack of wifi other than at the bar is ridiculous in this day and age. The fixed canopy is annoying - I spent everyday using the brush to get the water off it - soaking the decking everytime. Disappointing that you no longer recognise people who have come year after year - we used to have a bottle of wine to welcome us - now no one knows we are even regulars

It would appear that the days when the Eurocamp couriers were customer facing are long gone.

That said, the site was fantastic although this was partly to do with the fact that it was the final week of the season and therefore extremely quiet with plenty of space. Clean and quiet and nestled in a countryside full of wildlife, there was little more to ask for.

Nice site.Good food and value for money in the restaurant.shop good value for money for a campsite shop.
The site is 2 miles from Daglan.we walked it both ways and the walk back was dodgy(pitch black no path).
Saw plenty of wildlife.kingfisher, Eagle,Coypu(I think)woodpeckers etc.

Lovely campsite close to the Dordogne, good local dedicated cycle route to river at Castelnaud and in other direction beyond Daglan. Liam, Jess and Dan, Eurocamp couriers, very helpful with sorting out an electrical problem with the light switch to main living area and with ant infestation. Beautiful, good-value, home-cooked food at the bar restaurant every night with very friendly staff - Tomas, new to waitering, was particularly good. Lovely fresh bread and croissants every morning although the shop had limited stock otherwise. Pool lovely and warm.

This Parc is small, so don't expect everything here. Also it was very late in the season and some opening/closing times were changed. But all of this was made up by the positive attitude of the owners M. & Mme. Pomar. Apart from the Parc there is nothing else at Pauliac. Nearest village with shops is Daglan. But the Chateau at La Roque Gageac is only a couple of miles away. Lots more places to visit in the 20 or so miles around. Every small town & village has a market day and they all pick different days. So plenty of opportunities for presents etc. The furthest we drove in 10 days holiday was Rocamadour which is only 30 miles away. So in conclusion, if you want a quiet camp, with lots of history close by then this is for you. If you want night life and shops go somewhere else.
