The tiny picture-postcard village Roque Gagéac is 38km from the parc and with its riverside houses and trologdyte caves, it's a beautiful place to visit. Medieval Sarlat is a little further away but is well worth the drive - it holds regular markets in its cobbled streets. Beynac-et-Cazenac's castle on the top of a cliff is another must-see. Jacquou Park, made up of an animal park, water park and amusement park makes for a great day out. Closer to the site, why not explore rivers and gorges by canoe? There are also plenty of organised excursions available.
