Enjoy the simple things at this leafy, riverside parc

Are you looking for a peaceful parc, offering an authentic French holiday experience whilst being perfectly placed for exploring the Dordogne area? Look no further, Camping Le Pontet has got you covered.

Situated just 500m from the pretty town of Saint Astier and on the doorstep of the River Isle and Dordogne region, this parc really is a great example of European holidaying. You‘ll find a paddling pool for the little ones beside a larger size pool for the grownups. However, if fresh water is more your thing then head to the riverside for paddling and fishing against a beautiful woodland backdrop alongside banks smattered with 16th Century chateaux.

If sightseeing further afield is on the agenda then why not drive into Bergerac to sample the vino or explore Périgueux (only 18km from parc), the region's capital and its museums. This parc is a mere 5 minutes away from the A89 (the main road between Brive-la-Gaillard and Bordeaux), so is brilliant for visiting the local area, although we do recommend a car if you want to venture further than Saint Astier. Please note, due to the town centre location some traffic noise can be heard across the parc.

Disapointing campsite beside a very busy road. There were lorry's up and down the road all day long starting at around 5am every morning. The caravan was very close to the road and we could feel the vibrations as each lorry passed.
The campsite was unkempt and appeared uncared for and eventually we asked to be moved to the Loire.

I would not recommend this site to anyone nor would I go there again.

Whilst we enjoyed our holiday we were very disappointed with the site and cleanliness of the caravan. In addition the Campsite supermarket (as stated in your brochure) was non existent and the Wi-Fi stated as free in your brochure came at a cost of 30 euros. Won't be visiting again.

The campsite had very limited facilities but as we were away for 2 of the 4 days at a wedding this didn't matter too much. The shallow river running through the site was perfect for our young family's paddling needs. John the rep was very friendly and provided us with information and extra blankets. Marianne in reception was also great and fixed a puncture on our kids buggy with no fuss or charge. All in all a decent stay but might have struggled to entertain the kids in site if we had been there any longer than 4 nights.

Overall we had a fantastic holiday. The Dordogne region is amazing with plenty to keep all the family occupied - we would definitely return to this area. We loved being close to the local town of St. Astier and found it charming. We were not however so pleased with the campsite itself. We have never used Eurocamp before and we were surprised by the very basic facilities on the site. The swimming pool was in a poor state of repair and quite dangerous with many loose paving stones and the crazy golf and table tennis facilities looked tired. Our main issue was the fact that we felt the Eurocamp information was misleading in informing us how noisy the site was. We were made aware that some noise from the road would be heard, but the chalet was next to the road and extremely noisy both through the day and night. After hearing of other people's positive experiences of Eurocamp we came away feeling a little disappointed as we had been looking forward to one of your holidays. However, we enjoyed having John as our Eurocamp rep - a real character and an asset to your team!
