Family fun at Europa Park is just over 10km away at Rust and offers something for all ages - from babies to adults. Further out at Bergwelt Shauinsland, take a ride on Germany's longest cable car to the summit of this Freiburg mountain. At Freiburg im Breisgau you will find attractive squares and a large choice of shops, bars and restaurants as well as several museums and a cathedral. Located on the edge of the Black Forest it's in easy reach of the parc.

Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg

If you wish to venture further afield then the Autobahn network is on the doorstep. You could even venture into France. Why not visit the Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg in Orschwiller – a 12th century castle which dominates the landscape and is one of the most popular attractions in the region?

German wine

The Baden Wine Road

As well as cuckoo clocks, this region produces excellent wine. There is a very popular wine route close to the parc known as The Baden Wine Road or Badische Weinstrasse which is well worth discovering.



Picturesque Freiburg is close by and is a great place to shop and eat, as well as sightsee. It is interesting to see the Augustiner Museum displaying lots of art and sculptures, the Colombischlössle archaeological museum and the Freiburg Münster cathedral.

Steinwasen Park is popular with families. There are wild animals to see and tame creatures in the petting zoo, as well as activities including an 800 metre toboggan route and a flight simulator.

Schönwald im Schwarzwald, Black Forest

To enjoy an authentic Black Forest experience, head east, into the heart of the forest, and you’ll reach the nearby villages of Schönwald im Schwarzwald and Schonach, where you’ll find the world’s largest cuckoo clock.

You can see the city from a different perspective by taking a ride on Germany’s longest cable car ride at Bergwelt Schaunisland. Make sure you take warm clothing, it’s cold all the way up there!

Das Fest, Karlsruhe

Das Fest, Karlsruhe

With up to 250,000 visitors, this is the largest family festival in southern Germany. At these open-air concerts, children are made especially welcome and are kept entertained in the supervised play areas, while the older kids take part in skateboarding competitions, as well as other fun sports and activities.

Off Parc Activities

With the rolling hills, deep valleys and attractive lakes of the Black Forest all around, this parc is ideal for walkers and cyclists. It is also a great place to go horse riding. Stables and bike hire can be found 5 km from the campsite.

If you want to blow off some steam then you can work out in the gym just 2 km away or whack a ball around the tennis courts which are just 100 m from the site. There are also golfing facilities just 2 km away.
