The remains of a medieval castle at Solarolo can be viewed at the small town of Manerba. Salo is most definitely worth a visit, a beautiful town with the longest promenade on Lake Garda and many shops and lakeside restaurants. The largest town on the lake, Desenzano del Garda is about 17km away, and further afield, but within easy reach, is the operatic city of Verona and romantic Venice.

Days Out

Parco Aquatico Cavour

Parco Aquatico Cavour

If you are looking for a water park then Parco Aquatico Cavour isn’t too far away. This park is great for all ages because there are lots of different pools and slides as well as places to relax, like the sandy beaches.

Parco Naturo viva

Parco Natura Viva

Parco Natura Viva is a great attraction for animal lovers. You can go on safari and see lots of large animals like hippos and lions, you can walk around the zoo and see lots of rare animals and you can explore the extinction park to see life size model of animals that no longer walk the earth.

Stroll through the town of Salò, taking in the picturesque promenade or relaxing, or tasting the many delights in the cafés and bars. It's just a 20 minute walk in the town, taking in views of the lake.

Caneva World

The Caneva World complex is close to the parc and it has a great range of activities on offer. There are the ‘Movieland Studios’ with lots of stunt shows and rides based on a film theme. ‘Aquastudios’ is next door and is a water park designed to look like a tropical island with loads of great features like an erupting volcano and a fishing village. And if the sun is starting to set and you still aren’t ready to go home then you can go to the medieval times show. Cheer and jeer for your knight as four different teams battle whilst you gorge on a medieval banquet.

Gardaland is the largest amusement park in Italy and one of the largest in Europe. It offers its visitors no less than 11 different shows each day and 5 themed restaurants. The park has rides for the courageous such as Blue Tornado, Space Vertigo and Magic Mountain, or you could discover the ruins of an ancient oriental temple on board a rubber dinghy, or visit Fantasy Kingdom with the children.

Whilst staying at Weekend you should also take a day-trip to the gorgeous Verona, if only to see the wonderful operatic arena and the Duomo cathedral.

Off Parc Activities

If the views of Lake Garda are enticing you to the water then you can explore the lake on a canoe or rowing boat. The parc offers excellent facilities so there isn’t much need to look further afield but in addition to what we offer you can find horse riding facilities, scuba diving schools and karting tracks close by. In fact the karting track is one of the best in Europe – ‘South Garda Karting’ has over 1000 metres of track which has been driven round by many Formula 1 drivers.
