Beziers

Béziers

To experience the local culture head to Béziers and observe the Gallo-Roman features of the town. Béziers is home to the 12th century Saint Nazaire Cathedral as well as the principle trading centre of the Languedoc wine industry... cheers to that.

At Pézénas there is a romantic atmosphere in the air, with narrow cobbled streets in the old quarter, period mansions with wrought iron balconies, and ornate stone sculptures. It is a town of outstanding architectural interest with 115 historical sites.

Off Parc Activities

This campsite is a great place for cycling or walking along the Canal du Midi which links Portigranes Plage to Portiragnes Village. Another great way of seeing the surrounding area is on horseback and there is a riding school just 500 m away.

The parc has direct access to a beach where you can have plenty of fun in the sea and playing on the sand. Volleyball and windsurfing are popular here, as are the kids clubs. On Richelieu beach there is a Mickey Club for children ages 4 to 15 which has lots of activities like trampolining, swimming and bouncy castles.

Climbing

Climbing

The rugged and mountainous terrain of the Languedoc makes this a great area for climbing and Les Sablons is a perfect location, with no less than six crags within driving distance. La Crouzade (La Clape), with an altitude of 40m, is one of the best crags in the area with a good variety of popular climbing routes on slabs, walls and gentle overhangs. Another great crag with good quality rock is La Chandelle (La Clape), which offers steep slabs and wall climbing. It’s also a pleasure to head back to the parc when the temperature heats up, where you can cool down in the pool or take advantage of the parc’s direct access to a sandy beach and chill out in the waves.
