Italy’s capital is one of the most historical and culturally rich cities in the world. The Vatican city is a real must see.  Lots of the main attractions are within walking distance of each other, so put on  your comfy shoes, take a map and plan your route!

i pini, sightseeing, rome, colosseum

The world famous Colosseum is a star attraction, as is the Pantheon and there are plenty of historic ruins to take in nearby.  Alternatively take a break from history and seek out some Italian style in the city shops.

i pini campsite, sightseeing, parco di bomarzo

Parco di Bomarzo

Parco di Bomarzo is a large, rather strange garden in which mysterious forms in the shape of ogres, dragons, bears and mermaids have been sculpted from the rocks. Children can climb all over the statues and explore the strange house that leans and tilts.

Bioparc zoo

If you are visiting Rome then the children may be interested in visiting Bioparc zoo which is home to a number of animals, including lots of primates, big cats and reptiles. Rome also has a good aquarium.

The campsite organises excursions to ‘The Eternal City’ as well as to Pompeii and Naples.
