- Straight-forward drive from Calais, with even driving through Paris being easier than the average journey round the M25.
The Parc is very welcoming, in a good location alongside the Loire. The village, Muides-Sur-Loire is pretty and worthy of a quick walk around (turn right out of the entrance gate when walking, though not driving as it's a one way street).
We stayed in a 2 bed Vista, as a family of four with two young children. The caravan is small but functional. The kitchen really is too small to do anything worthwhile in terms of cooking, but the table in the "living room" (such as it is) and the out door table are both useful.
The pool complex is fantastic, though as with all pools there were issues with people reserving sunbeds and there not being enough sunbeds to go around when the weather was very hot. Restaurant, bar and take-away were all good, offering a range of choices even for me as a fussy vegetarian. The onsite shop was useful if a little over-priced, but it's a captive market so the charges were to be expected.
We experienced little downsides (the tea towel in the Welcome Pack that we'd ordered being an absolute waste of space, for example, as it had no ability to absorb water when drying up) but overall we had a really enjoyable 9 days stay.
Would highly recommend the aqaurium just the other side of Amboise, and Zoo Parc de Beauval, though an hour's drive away, is probably the best zoo we've ever visited. Blois is a lovely little town (the steps are great!) and Chateau Chambord is amazing if only for the double helix staircase.
We wouldn't visit this particular Parc again (there are too many places in the world to go back to the same place again and again, for us) but would highly recommend it to others.
