The château just across the Channel

Fancy staying in the grounds of a French château? Then why not make the most of a short hop over the Channel and settle into Château de Drancourt, a relaxing parc nestled in the gardens of a château.

The area surrounding the parc was made to be explored, so if you’re a keen walker or cyclist be prepared to get out and discover authentic French countryside. Alternatively, if you’ve got a thirst for history, make your way to the First World War battlefields that you’ll find nearby. Back on parc, there’s a mini golf course and a great pool complex with indoor and outdoor pools and fun waterslides. Or why not spend the evening in the stables? Don’t worry, these have been specially converted into a small bar.

Accommodation is shabby and worn and dirty. Park had a bar from 6pm to 9pm only as the site was not full enough to open until July...
Very expensive both on park and in St. Valary sur Somme. Nothing else to do on park apart from swimming, that's it apart from ONE rickety table tennis table. Will not return again and family's will be bored very quickly. Could not honestly reccomend the park.

An excellent holiday. Friendly and helpful couriers and site staff. Improvements are ongoing by the site owners which can only improve the site. The pool, which is ok early in the season would be overcrowded when the site is full.

We most definitely will not be returning to Drancourt again for quite sometime. We did not appreciate being on a building site with diggers driving around and workmen using electric saws etc. The work being done should have been completed before the site opened not while holiday makers were there. The most inconvenient event was that the water was cut off for at least 4 hours on one of the days that we were there - so no toilet facilities ( no toilet blocks available as they were working on those!!). All credit to the Eurocamp couriers who brought us bottled water - much appreciated. The roads in the campsite were also a mess as a result of excavation work, as seemingly drains were being replaced, there were pot holes everywhere. We have stayed at Drancourt previously and enjoyed our visit but this time it was not pleasant - all down to the site.

Hi Maureen

Thanks for letting us know about your recent experience.

I’m so sorry to hear that you have been disturbed by upgrade work taking place on the parc and I can understand your concerns regarding the passing diggers.

At the start of the season there can be occasions when campsites are still carrying out some work on their parcs but they usually let us know. We pride ourselves on being a proactive company and so we usually contact our customers as soon as we are made aware of any work taking place so I would like to apologise that unfortunately this wasn’t the case on this occasion.

The work is almost complete now and the new toilet block and work on the drainage and roadways on the parc will be beneficial for all going forwards.

Apologies once again that you were disrupted by this work, I can appreciate how frustrating it must have been and I would like to assure you that I have passed your comments onto our Contracting Manager who works closely with the parc management team and she will address your concerns with them directly.

Great to hear that the courier team were helpful on the parc.

Thanks again for sharing your feedback.

We were very fortunate to have six of our ten days at St Valery during the heatwave in the third week of April. We know St Valery well as we have had several holidays in the area. There was just one thing we did not like when for two - three days it was very noisy with workmen clearing bushes, trees etc. We had to go out to get away from the saws, drills or whatever instead of relaxing on our deck.
