We enjoyed our holiday even though the weather was a bit mixed. The caravan we were in was nice with plenty of pots and pans but little storage in the main living area and the kitchen sink was not in a good position with nowhere to stack dirty pots and difficult for others to get to tobdry up etc. The men in the party were constantly told they were wearing the wrong type of swimming shorts (cotton) by lifeguards wearing the same type and also the same type on sale at the camp shop!! However we did have a good holiday.

Plenty to do/see markets to visit. I recommend a visit to Le Tranches d'Olonne second to LeSables d'Olonne.

Brilliant park, that we plan to go back too. Children aged 6, 4 and 1 loved the pool and local beaches. Site staff were friendly and helpful.

Accommodation was pretty dirty when we arrived - cupboards were really dirty, food marks up the wall and the children's bedroom really smelt. I gave the mobile home a full clean, but the smell stayed. The eurocamp caravans looked very tired in comparison to the sites own homes.

Overall a good holiday and the smelly caravan didn't spoil it!

Overall we had a fantastic holiday - this campsite is in a beautiful part of the Vendee - Sables d'Olonne and Talmont St Hilaire are interesting places to potter around and Port Bourgenay is interesting to stroll around in the evening. Veillon Plage is stunning, although it does get busy and if you aren't there in the morning parking can be a challenge.
The campsite is on the whole clean and seems to be well run. The pool gets very busy - it can be difficult to get loungers. One day they did make everyone get out the pool and if they weren't on a lounger they removed the towels from that lounger. They only did this once and unfortunately they did it at lunch time, particularly penalising those with young children who needed some lunch in the shade. The cynic in me wonders if it is done then to encourage people to eat at the expensive poolside restaurant. Had they done it at say 11am or 2pm it would have been a good idea - but as I say it does rather mean those with young kids lose their place.
Men's swimwear is policed but that is all - the life guards are not there to ensure that people are behaving safely or sensibly. The indoor pool got incredibly full - the outdoor pool was freezing, to the point that you couldn't swim one stroke it was so full. This didn't stop young boys from dive bombing in there which could have easily caused an accident - the lifeguard didn't bat an eyelid.
The thing that would most likely stop me going again is the entertainment. Aside from the fact it is rubbish it is incredibly loud and goes on until 11.30/12 at night. Fortunately our caravan was some distance away but if you were in a van nearby it would pretty much ruin your holiday - especially if you had young children who needed to sleep. It was unnecessarily loud.
The campsite it, as you would expect, expensive. The shop is useful but pricey and the restaurant expensive for what it is. It was over £5 a pint in the bar. The bonus to this was few people were drinking which made for a nice family atmosphere!
The vans are also very much packed in with little space around them.
The rocky beach the site is on is great for rock pooling, and the sunsets from it are stunning. There are great coastal paths available too from the site.
