History of Croatia
Once an Illyrian settlement, Rovinj‘s old town features the 18th century Church of St Euphemia, which is the largest Baroque building in Istria. Its bell tower replicates the one at St Mark’s basilica in Venice.
A charming town in its own right, Pula is also home to an immaculately-preserved Roman amphitheatre. Built in the 1st century, its walls are still intact – the only one of its kind in the world, and one of the largest Roman remains, too.
