Camping Holidays in Loire
The Château de Blois is one of the most beautiful examples of Renaissance architecture in the Loire region. The story of its fabulous history is told in an audio-visual spectacular (Son et Lumière) illuminating the facades of the château in a magical world of light, colour and music. The show begins at 10 or 10:30pm and lasts for about 45 minutes. Please note, there is no show on the 21st June or the 13th July.
If you are a fan of all things floral, then you will love the International Garden Festival held in the grounds of the château at Chaumont-sur-Loire between April and October. With up to 30 themed gardens around a theme which changes every year, this feast for the senses has gained an international reputation. With garden designers coming from Russia, America, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Canada and of course France, the festival attracts visitors from across the globe.
The National Brass Band competition is a musical extravaganza, with as many as 30 French brass bands meeting in the town of Amboise at the Théatre Beaumarchais. Concerts are performed both indoors and out and there are street artists aplenty too. The competition itself is held on the Saturday.
