Camping Holidays in Picardy
If you are a lover of all things equine then Chantilly is the place to go (50 Km north of Paris). The Hippodrome de Chantilly hosts two of France’s classic horse races - the Prix du Jockey Club and the Prix de Diane Longines every year in June. But if you don’t fancy a flutter then you can always visit the local horse museum, ‘La Musée Vivant du Cheval’, which offers demonstrations three times per day.
William the Conqueror left St Valery sur Somme to begin his conquest of Britain and every year the area remembers the past with a colourful medieval fair. Crafts of the Middle-Ages are displayed and there are costumed re-enactments, jugglers and acrobats. 2019 dates to be confirmed.
