Perhaps a visit to the castles of the Loire is on the cards, such as the magical Château Saumur; or the Val de Loire wine road which offers days out to wonderful spots such as Saumur, Chinon, Anjou and Muscadet. Or maybe a kayak trip along the river is more your style?

Kids want to amp up the fun? There's the brilliant Zoo de Beauval, the medieval theme park of Puy du Fou, and its more technological counterpart, Futuroscope all within an easy 90 minutes' drive away. Whatever you choose, you've a simply stunning parc to return to after your adventures.
